Julie Hornok

COFOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Julie Hornok brings over nineteen years of special needs industry experience as a parent, behavioral program facilitator, global interviewer, speaker and award-winning author of the book, United in Autism: Finding Strength Inside the Spectrum. Her passion is using lessons learned hard from raising her three kids to connect and create life-changing events for families with disabilities. With a “work hard, play hard” philosophy, if she isn’t furiously typing her latest brainstorm on her laptop, you will find her napping on the beach with her husband of 26 years.

 

 

Dr. Regina Crone

COFOUNDER & VICE PRESIDENT

Dr. Regina Crone is passionate about all abilities! As a sibling she was introduced into the world of Autism and has navigated the world of severe Dyslexia as an individual and parent. She has been active in the disability community since 1998, gaining experience as a special education teacher, Behavior Analyst and Nationally invited speaker on various topics including: social skills, language, reading and behavior management for both professionals and families. She is a published researcher in the area of Parent Training and has authored several featured articles. She resides in Texas with her husband, three children, dogs, cows & chickens too.

Her motto: Go with the Flow and eat chocolate!

Kami Schaal RN, BSN, NC-BC

SECRETARY

As a devoted mother of three wonderful young adults, including her disabled son, Jeffrey, Kami Schaal understands the unique challenges and joys of being a special needs mom. In 2021, she opened her private practice as a board-certified nurse coach, specializing in women’s health. She is passionate about caring for women because “healthy women create healthy families and healthy families create healthy communities”. If she isn’t working with her clients, you will find her walking her rescue pup, Daisy, or attending local concerts or sporting events (Go Philly sports!) with her family.

Laura Lopez Williams

TREASURER

Laura Lopez Williams discovered early on that she felt called to be a helper. She pursued a career path as a Licensed Master Social Worker, where she worked with various programs for the disabled and special needs population. When Laura’s son was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD, her professional experience and personal life came together in a way that sparked a desire to help build a community that she was both passionate about and belongs to. Laura resides in Texas with her husband and son, and is honored to serve Labeled & Loved and Labeled & Loved: North Houston.

Ellen Herbert

Ellen Herbert, a wife of twenty-five years and mother to young adult children, has been parenting within the special needs community for over 20 years. She understands firsthand the joys and struggles of raising a child with unique abilities.  With 30 years in the field of compassionate care, beginning in the ‘90s serving Aids patients and then as a Women’s Ministry Leader in churches nationwide, she now combines her professional and personal experience within the Labeled and Loved community, inspiring mommas to navigate the unique challenges they face with strength and grace.
